Scan documents instantly

23 Remember when digitising documents meant giant and desperately slow flatbed scanners? Now you can do it with a single tap on your phone. All you need is the Notes app in iOS 12 or later; if you have macOS Mojave onwards you can also use the camera to scan directly to your Mac.

To scan a document, open or create a noise and then tap on the camera icon. Now choose Scan Documents and place your camera over the document you want to scan. Unless you’ve turned off Auto mode your phone will automatically scan it; if you have, you’ll need to press the shutter button or one of the volume controls. Drag the corners to fit the scanned page and tap Keep Scan. You can now retake the scan, save it or scan more documents.
