HOW TO Retouch a portrait

-

1 Access photo

Launch Facetune2. Tap the Library icon and browse to your chosen portrait or selfie. Tap the Retouch icon. To enhance the portrait above, we’ll whiten the teeth, reduce shine on the forehead and smooth out the skin a little.

2 Whiten teeth

Tap Whiten. Rub your finger over the subject’s teeth to select them in blue. Drag the slider right for whiter teeth. Tap the Eraser and rub to fine-tune the selection. When you’re satisfied, tap the tick to apply the changes.

3 Smooth skin

Tap Retouch again, then tap Smooth. Rub your finger to create smoother skin. Use the slider to fine-tune the effect. To reduce shine, tap Matte. Rub your finger over the places on the forehead and nose to lessen the shine. To finish, tap the tick.

4 Minimise eye bags

Tap the Touch-up icon. To reduce shadows under eyes caused by a highangle light-source, tap Eye Bags, and drag the slider to the right. Tap the Eyes icon, and drag the slider to the right to give the eyes more contrast.

5 Catchlight effect

Photographers can use a burst of ‘catchlight’ flash to bring the eyes to life with reflections. Tap the Eyes icon, then swipe through the options and tap Reflection. Tap to insert a reflection into the subject’s eyes.

6 Light effects

To add a touch of extra colour to the shot, you can mimic various lens flare or light leakage effects. First tap Light FX, then swipe through the collections and tap to apply an effect. Pinch and rotate to position the flare.
