STAGE MANAGER

BANISH APP CHAOS FOR GOOD

-

> Tired of sifting through your Mac’s open windows? Apple is hoping its Stage Manager feature will put those struggles to bed.

When you enable Stage Manager from Control Centre, your foremost open app stays front and centre, while all your other apps move into a sidebar on the left. You can click one of these apps and it will instantly switch places with your main app.

It’s a bit like Mission Control, but Stage Manager is much more organised. Only the main app is kept large and prominent, while multiple app windows are grouped together in the sidebar, meaning there’s far less onscreen clutter.

The real power comes when you manually group apps. You can drag windows out of the sidebar and on to the main stage, pairing them with other apps already there. The resulting group will remain paired when you move them into the sidebar. That’s great for keeping everything together when you want to work on a project or set up a workspace.
