Amazon kicked off the ebook revolution with its original Kindle hardware devices. While most people now prefer to read on their iPad or iPhone, the Kindle store is still very much alive and has a vast library of electronic books available for purchase and download. This is the key reason to use it over Apple’s Books – the sheer amount of content on the online store.

The apps have similar features like syncing books and reading progress across devices, and a small footprint making them lightweight and portable. You can also customise book displays and views and take notes on what you’re reading. Kindle ereaders are still available, too.
