A proper aerial view Fly over landmarks and cities on the iPad

While Maps’ Flyover feature is present in the Mac version, it comes into its own on the iPad. On the Mac, you can take the predetermined tour over a landmark but have no real control over your view or where you travel. On the iPad, you can take over the flight controls and navigate yourself by pointing and tilting the iPad, and dragging your finger over the screen. To start a flyover, search for a landmark. If there is a flyover available, you’ll see the option in the place card. Tap it to begin the tour. Tap Start Tour to begin the journey.
