1 The Acer K273 is a fantastic budget monitor that suits creative work, while also being a great media and gaming screen. At 27 inches, this is one of the largest monitors you can get for under £150, and its Full HD, 1080p resolution looks excellent, especially thanks to the 1,000:1 contrast ratio that ensures blacks are deep, rather than washed out and grey, which can be an issue with some budget monitors. It also has a refresh rate of 75Hz and response times are low, making it great for gaming.

While the K273 is stylish, it’s also large – and we’re not just talking about the screen. The back of the monitor and the stand take up quite a bit of room, which could cause issues where desk space is at a premium.

It comes with an HDMI port and an older VGA port, neither of which are much use if you have a Thunderboltonly MacBook, so you’ll need to use an adaptor to connect it. The built-in speakers are a bit tinny too.
