More iCloud storage options

-

If you go into System Preferences and click on your Apple ID you should see the usual iCloud options, which you can disable if you wish – so for example if you don’t want certain apps to store things in iCloud Drive you can select iCloud Drive > Options and turn those apps off.

If you look at the bottom of the System Preferences window, you’ll see a coloured graph of your iCloud storage. Click the Manage button and you can now see what’s being stored on iCloud and enable or disable specific kinds of storage. For example our iCloud has 44,519 photos and 1,160 videos, 23GB of documents, 6.5GB of device backups and 3.4GB of Mail. One of the most surprising culprits is Messages, which stores your chat history as well as files or photos you’ve been sent; even if you clear out lots of images, you can still find that your chat history is taking up a whopping amount of GB.

?? ?? You might find that some apps are using iCloud storage when you don’t want or need them to.
