Airthings View Plus
Keep an eye on air quality
£259 FROM airthings.com/en-gb FEATURES 7.37cm ePaper display, sensors for various pollutants, as well as temperature, humidity, and air pressure; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hub functionality
Being able to monitor the air quality in our homes is more important than ever. In April, the Central Office of Public Interest (Copi) and Imperial College concluded that 97% of UK homes exceeded World Health Organisation (WHO) deadlines for safe levels of pollutants.
The pill-shaped Airthings View Plus comes with six sensors for measuring different pollutants – from Radon levels to CO2, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to particulate matter (PM2.5). It can even warn you when your home is too hot, too humid or whether rooms are suffering from excessive levels of humidity.
The results are listed on a 7.37cm ePaper display that gives you an at-a-glance view of the current atmospheric conditions in your home. It can also work standalone – so while you could team it with an Airthings Hub (£69) as part of a whole house monitoring system, you can also use it solo, with feedback delivered to the Airthings app on your iPhone or iPad or via the Airthings dashboard on your Mac. The View Plus can be battery powered, or powered via its built-in USB-C port. As with other Airthings products, the View Plus doesn’t work with HomeKit. However, we think you’ll love its large, easy-to-read display and the feedback the device provides. Rob Mead-Green
