Spotlight suggestions Pick Siri’s brain

From macOS High Sierra (10.13) onwards, ≈-clicking on a word or phrase brings up a pop-up that enables you to look up the selected text and benefit from Siri Knowledge. Depending on what you select this may mean the dictionary definition and thesaurus synonyms, the plot and average rating of a film, or the Wikipedia entry for a particular place.

For example, if we use Siri Knowledge on the words ‘High Sierra’, the first panel tells us it’s a version of macOS and then Siri Knowledge tells us the plot, cast and crew of the 1941 film with the same name.

≈-click a word or phrase and choose Look Up to get dictionary definitions and Siri Knowledge entries.
