SanDisk’s ArmorATD is housed in an anodised aluminium case with rubber impact protection. Together these give it resistance to rain and dust to IP54, and a claimed 454kg crush resistance.

Its USB-C port is covered and sealed with rubber, and comes with a single USB-C to A cable, although you can provide your own cable to connect it to a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3/4 port on your Mac. It’s fully compatible with Macs, and works fine with both file

systems. However, in return for its robustness, it proved to be the slowest on test, with an average read performance of 95MB/sec and 93MB/sec write performance, falling to an innermost read speed of only 58MB/sec.

It comes in a range of capacities from 1TB to 5TB. If protection is important, this is a great choice.
