Mac Format

hello (again)

- ROB MEAD-GREEN EDITOR editor@macformat.com

The arrival of autumn is always great news for Apple fans and this year is no different – in fact if you turn to p6, you’ll be able to read all about the new products Apple unveiled at its Far Out event in September, including the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, new Apple Watch Ultra and AirPods Pro 2.

But that’s not the only reason to celebrate. Turn to p20, and you’ll discover the incredible new features in iOS 16 – your next free upgrade to your iPhone’s operating system. We’re particularly excited by its new customisation options and the welcome enhancements Apple has made to apps like Maps, Messages and Mail. And you won’t even need a new iPhone to use them: iOS 16 is compatible with a huge range of iPhone and iPod touch devices, all the way back to the 2nd gen iPhone SE. And that’s really just the start.

Over the next few months we’re expecting to see new Macs and iPads, incredible new versions of iPadOS and macOS, watchOS and tvOS and hopefully a “One More Thing.” As ever, we’ll bring you all the latest news as soon as we get it – and help you make the most of all these new products through expert tutorials and in-depth features.

While we’re here, at the top of the page you’ll see a QR code for TechRadar’s weekly newsletter. Point your iPhone camera at it and sign up – then you’ll always be in the know!
