Better search options in Mail

Apple’s Mail app has come in for a fair bit of stick over the years and for good reason, it’s fallen way behind in terms of features compared to rivals such as Gmail, and message searching has been poor.. Not anymore though. In iOS 16, type a search term into the search box and the results should now appear instantly, with your search term highlighted in yellow so you can more quickly find the result you’re looking for. Top Hits shows the top three results, while tapping any of the entries under Suggestions will take you to a more comprehensive list. This works for messages in third-party email services such as Gmail as well as iCloud – the speed of the results may surprise you.
