Lift a subject from its background

A neat feature in Photos, Quick Look, Screenshot and Safari is ‘Lift image from background’. This enables you to grab the subject of a photo on a web page or elsewhere and paste it into another app, which is handy for Keynote presentations, Pages documents and more. To use this feature in Safari, long press on an image until a pop-up menu appears, then select Copy Subject. Now open the app or document you want to place the image into and tap Paste from the contextual menu. The copied subject should then appear as a cutout without its original background. Grab handles around the image enable you to resize and reposition the cutout image to fit in the space allowed.
