Why doesn’t Time Machine back up my external disk?

> It will if you want, but by default adds all external disks to its exclusion list, a behaviour you can’t alter. Open System Prefs’ Time Machine pane, click Options, select the external volumes you want backed up, click the ‘–’ button, then Save. This can catch you out when swapping external drives, as they’re recognised by unique identifiers not names.

How to check when my Magic Trackpad is recharged?

> For the last few versions of macOS, when you connect a wireless trackpad or keyboard to recharge it, its charge level isn’t shown in the Bluetooth menu. To see it, look in System Prefs’ Trackpad (or Keyboard) pane instead.
