Designed for indoor use, the Ezviz C6 security camera makes it easy to keep a lookout on your house, family and pets. The camera takes minutes to set up via the free Ezviz app for iOS, which includes controls to pan the camera through 353-degrees and tilt it through 133-degrees.
While you can, of course, watch live, the camera also comes with a built-in MicroSD card slot (card not supplied) for storing any video recordings it makes, or you can use Ezviz CloudPlay Storage instead. After a 30-day trial, its single camera plan costs £2.99/month (first year only, then £4.99/ month after that) or £44.99 (first year only, £49.99/year after that) for seven days’ worth of video recordings with three-day and 30-day plans available. Unfortunately, Ezviz doesn’t support Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video, which would enable you to store recorded footage as part of your iCloud subscription.
However, the C6 is capable with noise, human detection and pet detection and has decent video quality through its 4mm lens. Camera movement can be jerky when picking up movement and the Ezviz app itself is a little clunky, but the C6 offers an affordable entry point for smart home security.
