THE WINNER Fantastical
Its stunning interface and natural-language input make Fantastical a joy to use
Each of the apps in our round-up has something to commend it and you won’t go far wrong if you choose any of
them. The fact that Google Calendar is free and hooks into the rest of its services is a big plus, and BusyCal’s natural-language support and customisation options make it worth a look. Readdle Calendars’ focus on positive habits could be helpful for some, too. Moleskine’s Timepage is lovely and a pleasure to use. Its Today card is particularly good. And Week Calendar’s Mini Month view is a good way to get an overview of a month’s worth of appointments. However, all of these apps had negatives, whether that was a lack of support for naturallanguage input, a cramped interface, or missing features. Only Fantastical came through our tests unscathed. It looks terrific on all versions, and the intelligent use of gestures in the iOS and iPadOS versions make it fun to use. Little touches, like the animated alarm bell, add to that. It’s a worthy winner.
