HOW TO Master the Lock Screen >

-

1 Create a Lock Screen

Swipe down over the top-left corner of the screen to display the Lock Screen, then tap and hold on it. Tap the ‘+’ to add new Lock Screen. You can now choose a wallpaper for the Lock Screen from Apple’s suggestions.

2 Customise the look

Swipe up to see the categories of wallpaper, and left over a category to see the further options. To choose one, tap it. Some wallpapers have different options. To see them, swipe left over the screen. Tap Add to select one.

3 Create your look

If you don’t like any of the suggestions, you can choose your own photo from your Library, or specify the precise colour you want to use. To do that, tap one of the circles at the top of the Add New Wallpaper screen.

4 Add Widgets

Navigate to your new Lock Screen in the carousel and choose Customise. Tap the Widgets bar beneath the clock. To remove a widget, tap the ‘–‘ next to it. Now tap a widget from the drawer beneath to add it to the empty slot.

5 Choose a top Widget

The other slot for widgets is above the clock, which by default displays the date. In the Customise screen, tap the date. Tap a suggestion or swipe up over the list to see more options. Tap ‘X’ then Done to save your choice.

6 Customise the clock

In the Customise screen, tap the clock. Tap one of the font options to apply it. Tap a suggested colour then use the slider to adjust it. If you want to choose a colour that’s not displayed, swipe left and tap the colour picker.
