1 Activate Shared Library

Tap the Settings app to open it, then Photos and, under Library, tap Shared Library. Tap Get Started, then Add Participants to start typing the name of a contact. When the person you want to add appears in the list, tap their name.

2 Add more people

If you want to share the library with more than one person, tap Add to include the first contact and then, on the Add Participants screen, tap Add Participants and repeat the selection process. Tap Next when you’re done.

3 Choose what to share

You now have three choices: you can share all your photos and videos, in which case they will all be moved to the Shared Library; you can choose by people or date; or you can do this manually. Tap the option you want, then tap Next.

4 Select photos

If you chose to share manually, then choose photos from your library. You can search for photos or filter by album. Tap the photos you want to add and tap Add. If you chose People or Date, tap Add People and choose who to add.

5 Finish setup

After choosing the photos to share, tap Next. If the option to choose a start date appears, tap it and choose. Tap Next. Tap Preview to see the photos you’ve chosen or tap Skip. Tap Continue then Invite via Messages or Share Link.

6 Choose how to share

In Settings > Photos > Shared Library, toggle Shared Library Suggestions to on if you want to receive those. Tap Add Other People for photos that include them. To share automatically from Camera, toggle that switch to on.
