Apple Watch Ultra bands

Cupertino is making a big deal of the bands you can choose with the Apple Watch Ultra. (Note: you can use any 44/45mm strap you own or like the look of, but you have to pick one of the following at purchase).

We tested the Watch Ultra with the Oceanic Band and we can’t say we love it. It looks a bit, well, Lego in its design, although it’s sturdy as heck and is designed to stay put during ‘high speed watersports’.

The Trail Loop is a simple slip-on and velcro strap, with elastene for comfort. We wish we could have tried it, as it felt comfortable in our tests, but it wasn’t to be.

The final option is the Alpine loop, which uses a hook to secure it to the fabric. This was hard to put on, and didn’t fit. These are for the bigger arm, it seems.

All three were comfy, and while the Oceanic Band wasn’t to our taste, it never came off the wrist.
