HOW TO Get started with Passkeys

1 Locate account setting

To change your sign-in for an account, log into your account settings and locate the option most likely to support Passkeys. Initially, these could be for biometrics or hardware keys. Click to set up this ‘device’.

2 Create your Passkey

When Safari recognises the service trying to create a Passkey sign-in, it should prompt you to authenticate so the Passkey can be created and its public key sent to the service. This is easiest using Touch ID.

3 Successful creation

If the Passkey is successfully created and the service registers your public key correctly, it should report that Passkey sign-in is now set. Don’t disable regular password access yet, until it’s fully checked.
