Broken app updates

In previous versions of macOS, Gatekeeper only checked the signature of an app thoroughly when it was first run after being downloaded.

In Ventura, those checks recur every time an app is run. The delay in launching shouldn’t be noticeable, but some apps which update themselves might not pass all those signature checks. If an app that has been updated in place can’t open as a result, replace it with a fresh copy of that version.
