Sync Shazam songs

-

1

Get Siri to listen

When you want to find out what a song is, ask Siri “what song is playing?” If your iPhone is locked, you’ll see a pop-up showing a waveform and the “Listening…” status. You must have Wi-Fi or mobile data on for Shazam to work.

4

Discover the album

Tap on the Apple Music option to be taken to the song’s parent album, if it has one – here you’ll see that the song is the seventh track on the album. Since this is an Apple Music page you can favourite it, download it, add it to a playlist and so on.

7

If you go into the Music app after enabling Shazam sync, you’ll see a playlist called My Shazam Tracks that contains your Shazam songs. It includes songs you Shazam’d before turning on sync so you don’t have to add those.

5

Use the app

The Shazam app remembers the songs you’ve searched for, putting them in the My Music page. This lists the songs you’ve used Shazam to identify and provides Apple Music links. The Concerts feature can tell you of upcoming shows.

8

Use Control Centre

There’s also a Shazam button in Control Centre (you can add or remove it in Settings > Control Centre). If you have an iPhone 15, the “Listening…” notification appears in the Dynamic Island at the top of your phone display.

6

Change sync settings

One of the most useful Shazam features lives in its Settings screen: ‘Sync Shazams to Apple Music’. If you toggle this option on, Shazam will automatically add your Shazam’d songs to an Apple Music playlist for easy access.

9

Find the song

Once again it only takes a few seconds for Shazam to recognise the song, and the notification will change to show the song title, artist and artwork; this notification is bigger than the Lock Screen one for Siri but it works the same.
