16 Fetch New Data

Even if your device is set to have data pushed to it, if this isn’t possible it can fall back on Fetch to check in with servers periodically, or when you manually refresh within an app. You’ll find a new option for Fetch in Settings > Accounts & Passwords > Fetch New Data: Automatically. When this is selected, you can still manually refresh an app’s data, but when an app is in the background, it can only fetch data if your device is connected to external power and Wi-Fi.
