Quick-fire questions & answers
How can I make HEIF images on a 9.7‑inch iPad Pro?
Currently, HEIF format is fully supported — capturing in it, not just viewing, editing, and duplicating — on the most recent devices with an A10 chip. The Half app, from the iOS App Store, claims to convert JPEG images to HEIF (HEIC) format, but it has limited options and for the moment is best used for just exploring the format. Other tools support HEIF only on iPads with an A10 chip.
How do I reduce screen glare in dim lighting conditions?
You can set most iPhones and iPads to adjust display brightness automatically according to ambient lighting, which should do the trick. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility. Under “Vision,” tap Display Accommodations and turn on AutoBrightness. There’s an equivalent setting in the Magnifier accessibility feature’s page, too.
