View recent items

Recent files and folders get their own menus in the two icons below the heart. You can drill down into the menus within the latter. To focus a dialog on your most recently used folder, press Opt plus the down arrow.

Finder windows

To focus a dialog on a location that’s open in Finder, click the dialog’s Finder icon (bottom right) and pick the location from the menu, or click the Finder window itself. (The same menu also lists recently closed windows.)

Use the menu bar

Click Default Folder X’s menu bar icon to access menus for your local and network storage, Favorites, recent items, and Finder windows. These menus too are navigable. You can also switch Folder Sets here — see below.
