Make public from a Mac

In Calendar’s sidebar, move the pointer over the calendar you want to share, then click the icon that appears to the right. Check Public Calendar, then click the Share button, or tripleclick the address and copy it to send to people.

Share privately

In Calendar’s sidebar, hover over the calendar you want to share, and click the icon. Click the “Share with” box and start to type an invitee’s name. Click it when the name appears, then click Done to send an invitation email.

Make public from iOS

Tap Calendars at the foot of the screen and tap the next to the calendar you want to share. Switch on Public Calendar (scroll down if necessary). Tap Share Link, then choose the method you want to use from the Share sheet.

Share privately from iOS

Tap Calendars at the foot of the screen and tap the as before. Tap Add Person under Shared With, then start typing the name of a person you want to share the calendar with. Tap their name when it appears, then tap Add.

Make public from web

Sign in to iCloud.com and click Calendar. Click the share icon by a calendar’s name and click the Public Calendar checkbox. Click Email Link to open a new message in iCloud Mail, or Copy Link to copy it to send by other means.

Share privately on web

In the Calendar app in iCloud.com, click the Sharing icon and check the box marked Private Calendar. Start typing the name of a contact, and click the correct name when it appears. Click OK to send them an invitation.

Subscribe from a Mac

In Calendar, go to File > New Calendar Subscription. Paste the address of the calendar into the box, and click Subscribe. Assign the calendar a name and color, then choose iCloud from the Location menu. To finish, click OK.

Subscribe from the web

Click Calendars and click on the public calendar you want to add. From the Edit menu, choose Get Info. Click iCloud in the Location menu, then OK. You’ll now see the calendar on your iPhone, iPad, and iCloud.com.
