How to Take things further

-

Multiple bars

Add richness to a rhythm with extra bars. Tap the Pattern Settings button (the i in the bottom bar). Under Length, pick a new value. GarageBand duplicates your existing rhythm to any new bars, which you can then adjust.

Overlay a new track

Tap the Tracks View button (center in the set of three at top left), then + to add a track. Make it a second Beat Sequencer track, using the Retro Rock kit (from Acoustic). Keep this track simple, to avoid a messy loop.

Mix your loop

Return to Tracks view and swipe right on an empty area of the left panel to reveal track controls. Adjust your loop’s mix using the volume sliders. Tap the headphones/speaker icons to mute and solo individual tracks, respectively.
