How to Drag and drop with ease on your iPad

-

Yoink in Slide Over

Use Slide Over to display Yoink as a floating panel. With Yoink installed and another app open, swipe up from the foot of the screen to reveal the Dock; drag Yoink’s icon from the Dock on top of the active app, then let go.

Drag items to Yoink

Yoink accepts almost anything you can drag, including content from apps, such as images, text snippets, web addresses, emails, and documents. Here we’re dragging a picture from Photos onto Yoink’s temporary shelf.

Drag them out again

Return to the Home screen and open the destination app for your item. If Yoink isn’t visible, swipe in from the screen’s edge to pull its Slide Over panel back into view, and drag items out from there — photos into Notes, say.

Manage your shelf

Our photo remained on Yoink’s shelf after we dragged it to Notes. If you’d prefer to move items so they’re no longer on the shelf, instead of copy them, tap the padlock (lowerleft corner of Yoink) before dragging them out.
