Raspberry Pi
The low-cost, highperformance flexible little computer
With prices starting at less than $10, the compact and affordable Raspberry Pi computer has really helped to make programming popular in recent years. There are several models of Pi available. All consist of a simple circuit board that holds the main computer processor, memory and a few USB ports. You can extend Pi’s capabilities with add-ons such as a mouse and keyboard, camera, and even a touchscreen display.
There are several ways of using an iPhone or iPad with a Pi — in fact, an iPad can act as a screen for the tiny device, and there are projects online, such as HomeBridge, to enable you to control a variety of smart home accessories through a Pi. Read more at raspberrypi.org and, if you’re good at tinkering, our sister mag Linux Format ( linuxformat.com) has a section all about Pi every issue.
