Some things exist, and do exactly what they’re supposed to do, but make you question the very nature of technological advancement. Take the Pawbo+, a combination webcam, treat dispenser, two-way intercom and laser pointer, which allows you to remotely interact with your pets.

The unit connects easily to Wi-Fi, and through that to an app, putting that red laser dot, photos and video recording, control of the motorized treat wheel, and a microphone at your fingertips. You can see what your pets are doing from afar, then baffle them by talking to or half-blinding them.

It’s purrfect (sorry) if you or your pet have any separation anxiety, as long as your furry friends are both bothered by the Pawbo+ and small enough that they won’t destroy it; in testing on three cats, two were more interested in the ticking of the laser motor, and the other got stuck in with her claws after realizing it smelled of kibble.

the bottom line. Cute, though its value might not match its price.
