How to Manage Do Not Disturb

Don’t be disturbed

To shut out notifications until the next day, tap Do Not Disturb’s button (the one with a crescent moon) in Control Center. In iOS 12, though, you get more options for how long it’s active than in previous versions.

Turn on at location

Out somewhere in public and want to be left alone? Open Control Center, apply a long/firm press to Do Not Disturb’s button and tap ‘Switch off when you leave this location’. No need to remember to turn it off again!

If the current time is within an event in Calendar, the contextual menu when you hold/press Do Not Disturb’s button will include an option to turn on the feature until that event concludes. Consider whether it’s likely to overrun!
