LETTER OF THE MONTH

-

Apple did indeed discontinue its own print service on September 30th. Apple actually recommends that you download and install one of a few available Photos Projects extensions from the Mac App Store, such as Motif, Mimeo Photos, Wix Photo Albums, and more (including the aforementioned Fujifilm Prints & Gifts). So, if you’re not happy with the option the Apple tech support person recommended, there are others you can try — hopefully at a price you can stomach. I recently tried ordering some prints in Photos (using macOS 10.12) but the button to complete the process was grayed out. When I contacted Apple support, I was told to upgrade to the latest version of macOS — Mojave. After doing this, the order print button disappeared altogether! Back on chat with tech support and it turns out Apple discontinued the ordering of photo prints on September 30. I was recommended to try using a Fujifilm extension to order prints in Photos, but annoyingly this option costs twice the price. Donald Worrell
