How to learn more
Make sure you read through Apple’s Shortcuts User Guide, the company’s documentation resource at bit.ly/mfscug, which walks you through even more of the app’s possibilities. The guide builds on the Workflow team’s efforts, including how to use URL schemes and web APIs (application programming interfaces) to communicate with apps and servers, though that’s pretty advanced stuff. Take a course
Check out MacSparky’s Siri Shortcuts Field Guide ( bit.ly/
mcsprk). David Sparks has put together a series of tutorials, including over three hours of video, for an affordable $29.
This feature’s author has his own YouTube channel offering Shortcuts help ( bit.ly/ytmcass), and regularly posts shortcuts he has designed or links to standout examples from other people on Twitter — follow @mattcassinelli there. As a former member of the Workflow team and a Siri Shortcuts expert, he has plenty of first–hand experience to share.
Of course, Mac|Life will showcase additional Shortcuts recipes in the coming months. We’ll cover individual shortcuts that we think will be of benefit to a large number of our readers to enhance your iOS experience.
