If you’re a fan of the App Switcher in macOS but feel that it’s rather limited, Command–Tab Plus may just be for you.

Command–Tab Plus only displays the apps designated to the Space you’re working in when you press Command–Tab, and allows you to show only those that are active. So, if you have lots of applications open but are only using three or four, it will only show those. It also makes it easy to cycle through different open windows in an app. Command–Tab Plus allows you to configure your own keyboard shortcuts, so it’s up to you if you use it as a replacement for the App Switcher, and you can customize its appearance too.

In use, it’s intuitive and easy to configure. You can access basic settings, such as whether to show hidden apps, or show all apps (as opposed to just those that are active), along with its Preferences, from its menu bar item. The options to configure its appearance are numerous, from choosing between light or dark themes and the color and transparency of its background, to the size of the icons.

the bottom line. If you rely on the App Switcher but wish it would do more, or that you could customize it, Command–Tab Plus is worth a look.
