Siriously?

-

I appreciated the ‘6 things we wish Siri understood’ article. Here’s my recent experience on an iPhone 7 Plus and a good LTE connection while driving: I wanted to call my wife, so I say to my phone, “Hey Siri” and nothing happens. After a while I repeat, and I see the Siri waveform, then nothing. After another wait, I repeat and phone displays “what can I help you with” after the waveform. I reply, “call Sandi Cunnington”. She is in my phonebook, yet Siri disconnects. So I push the talk button on my steering wheel, and announce, “call Sandi Cunnington”. The in–car system promptly dials my wife. Forget Siri. Rick Cu nnington Siri can be hit and miss, but we generally find it works pretty well. It should be able to easily handle you making calls to people on the phone, so it sounds like something might be amiss. We’d say check out this support article, which shows you what to do if Siri isn’t working properly (it could simply be a blocked mic), at bit.ly/letters151_siri.
