How to Add creative effects
1 Add motion blur
Select a clip in the timeline, tap Edit, then tap the Color & Effects icon. Tap the droplet–shaped Blur icon. Try a preset effect, such as Long Zoom. Scrub to frame 01, set the Amount slider to 0, then tap the Add Keyframe button.
4 Add new keyframe
The top clip will play inside the inserted picture. To animate the insert’s size, go to frame 1. Tap Add Keyframe, then go forward a few seconds. Use the smaller picture’s handles to resize it. A new keyframe is added.
7 Stylized effects
Tap on a clip in the timeline, followed by Edit, the Color & Effects icon, then the Styles icon. Add a style, such as Comic, and adjust its properties using the sliders. For example, the Blend slider reduces the opacity of the style.
2 Adjust blur amount
Go forward a few frames and raise the value of the Amount slider. A new keyframe is automatically added. Play the clip. The zoom–blur effect gradually appears as the playhead moves between the two keyframes.
5 Flip for continuity
The buggy’s going in the opposite direction in this clip compared to the previous one. Select this clip and tap Edit to use the Frame and Fit Editor. Tap the Flip Horizontally icon to make its direction match the previous clip.
8 Copy and paste
Once you’ve customized a look, tap on the timeline’s Clip icon. Ensure the Effects icon is highlighted (as above), then tap Copy. Select a new clip on the timeline, then tap the Clip panel’s Paste button to add the same effects.
3 Inset another clip
Drag a new clip onto a parallel video layer above the zoom–blur clip that’s already on the timeline. Select the top clip, tap Edit to enter the Frame & Fit Editor, then tap a preset, such as Top Right PiP, for a frame–in–frame effect.
6 Need for speed
While in the Frame & Fit Editor, tap the Speed Editor icon. Slow down the action by dragging the Speed slider left (or speed up by dragging it right.) You can even render a backwards version by tapping the Reverse box.
9 Share your film
With your movie finished, tap the Share icon (near the top right) and pick Movie. Choose a social network or online storage to publish to, set a frame rate and resolution, tap the Share icon, name your film, and tap the icon again.
