Cleaning up text quickly is a challenge for even the most adept iOS user, but Text Case aims to make it simple. The idea is straightforward: you copy a line, paragraph, or whole document to the clipboard, then convert it with Text Case.

You can change it from lowercase to uppercase, choose from one of four title case standards, strip HTML from it, encode it to URL formatting or decode it and several other formats, too.

Version 2 has been rebuilt and redesigned, and adds four new formats — emoji, Rot13, Base64 Encoded, and Base64 decoded. It now supports light

and dark modes, and allows you to enable and disable formats. Some formats, we suspect, are stronger candidates for being disabled than others — hashtag and Mocking Spongebob come to mind. There are lots of other formats we’d love to see, including stripping out double spaces, and changing hyphens with spaces either side to en dashes, but those on offer are a solid set.

There are a number of ways to use Text Case one you’ve copied text. You can invoke it from a Share Sheet, open the app and tap Use Copied Text, or build it into a Siri Shortcut. However you activate it, you’re presented with a screen that displays the selected text in all the formats TextCase supports. Choose the one you want, tap and hold, and then choose to copy it or share it directly with another application.

THE BOTTOM LINE. A great tool for anyone who needs to reformat text quickly in iOS.
