Apple has regained top spot in the smartphone market. Despite global smartphone sales falling by 5% in Q4 2020, Apple saw 14.9% growth in iPhone sales, shipping an estimated 79.8 million iPhones in the quarter, according to tech research firm Gartner. This gives Apple a 20.8% market share, says Gartner, making Apple the world’s number–one smartphone maker for the first time since the same quarter in 2016.
