HP’s new 27–inch monitor checks a lot of boxes. There’s the 27–inch IPS panel for excellent image quality, the USB–C interface supports both image input and up to 100W of device charging, and it even has a DisplayPort out connector, allowing you to daisy chain another monitor. Then there’s the pop–up webcam with 1080p video and an Ethernet port with pass– through to the USB–C dock.
It’s a pretty comprehensive productivity solution, but it probably needs to be seeing as this monitor tops out at 2,560 by 1,440 pixels. That’s a decent pixel count, to be sure, but it’s conspicuous that 4K IPS monitors with USB connectivity can be had for similar money. What they don’t offer is the HP E27d G4’s extras, like the webcam, daisy chaining and integrated Ethernet, not to mention the slick design and build.
As for image quality, this isn’t a pro–grade content creation panel but it’s vibrant, with great viewing angles and good default calibration.
