1 Mac and PC together

Make sure both your PC and Mac are connected to the same network, then open Migration Assistant on your PC. Do the same on your Mac. Most of the work will be done here. Choose “From a Windows PC,” let your Mac find your PC.

2 Pick what to transfer

The Migration Assistant will automatically choose the key folders for each user account on your PC, including some files in the system folders. It’ll also show you how much space the folders will require on your Mac.

3 Set up user accounts

If you have several user accounts from your PC, Migration Assistant can replicate them on your Mac. It’ll give the other users a temporary password — make sure you write it down. All you need to do now is start the transfer.
