HOW TO Find what you need

-

Find gas nearby

Low on fuel? This shortcut will help. Create a new shortcut and name it “Find Gas Near Me” using the “…” button. Tap Add Action, tap Location, then Get Current Location. Tap “+” and scroll to Search Local Businesses. Tap the words Local Businesses and type “Gas stations,” then tap Done. Tap “+” and add Show Directions. In the top–right, tap Done. Now when you run the shortcut you’ll see a list of gas stations; pick one for directions.

See everyone’s birthday

We all forget birthdays, even if we don’t like to admit it — but no longer. Create a shortcut called “Upcoming Birthdays.” Tap Add Action, then type “Find Contacts” into the search box and tap the top result. Tap Add Filter. Tap Group and choose Birthday, then change “is on” to “is in the next.” Change the frequency to one week and the sort order to Birthday. Next, we need to tell Shortcuts to get the names of any contacts contained in the previous step’s results. Tap “+” and find Get Name in the search box, then select it. Tap “+” and search for Add to Variable. Change Variable Name to “Name.” Finally, tap “+” and search for Show Alert in the search box, then tap the top result. Change the text to “Upcoming birthdays.” Press Return twice, then tap Name in the variables bar. Tap Done. When you run the shortcut, a notification will show every birthday within the next week.
