HOW DO I SHOW HIDDEN FILES IN THE FINDER?

Press Cmd+Shift in the Finder; when you want to hide them again, repeat the same shortcut. You can make this a more permanent state by typing in Terminal: defaults write com.apple. Finder AppleShowAllFiles true

Setting that to false will return the Finder to normal again.
