> DELTA PILOTS GET iPAD PRO

-

Remember the days when electronic devices were prohibited in–flight? Things have changed. Delta Air Lines is issuing pilots with an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) with a 5G iPad Pro. Flight bags used to consist of bulky paper documentation and maps required for flights. In the iPad Pro based EFB, all this is provided in custom EFB apps, saving a huge amount of weight and therefore fuel. AppleInsider.com reports that Delta will also use the AT&T IoT Global SIM and AT&T Control Center, to enable data connectivity and support while working in over 200 countries.

Just months ago, Delta supplied its 19,000 flight attendants with an iPhone 12 and also proposed the use of augmented reality to help them perform critical tasks and access in– cabin inventory.
