If you want a free and open–source password manager, Bitwarden is your only choice. It’s also one of few which still supports Mavericks and later, and has command tools. You can use it without cost as long as you like, but to gain access to more advanced features such as 2FA and emergency access to data, you’ll need to pay a small subscripti­on.

What you get for no money does the job well, but it’s an Electron app which lacks bells or whistles such as additional security checks. Its interface is basic, so much so that the iPadOS version makes little use of the extra

If you’re unable to pay a subscripti­on but have to support Windows, Linux, or Android, this could be your only choice, but it doesn’t offer those only using Macs much more than already comes in macOS.
