HOW TO Set up rules
1 Add a rule
Rules are created in Preferences. Click the Mail menu, then Preferences and choose the Rules tab. Click the Add Rule button. Type a descriptive name for the rule and choose whether any or all conditions have to be met.
2 Set the conditions
Rules work similarly to Smart Mailboxes. Choose the criteria for the first condition from the menus on the left and add text if needed to create the condition. Click the “+” to add more conditions to the rule.
3 Specify the action
Tell Mail what to do with messages that meet these conditions. Select actions from the menus and type text in any boxes that appear. Click Done. Choose whether to apply the rule to existing messages.
