HOW TO Neural Mix Pro
1 Get started
Once you’ve downloaded it from the Mac App Store, launch Neural Mix Pro. Click Get Started. On the next screen, be careful to click Maybe Later, which is not highlighted, unless you really want to buy the full version.
2 Import Music
We’re going to import tracks stored on our Mac. If you still have iTunes installed, you can also import from your iTunes Library. Click My Music at the bottom–left of the window and choose My Files. Click the “+”.
3 Add a track to learn
Navigate to the folder that contains the tracks you want to learn and select it (you can’t select the tracks themselves). Click Add. Click the folder in Neural Mix Pro then double– click the song in the track window.
4 Isolate an instrument
Press the Spacebar to start the song and press it again to pause. On the left are four sliders labelled Vocals, Harmonic, Bass, and Drums. Click the Mute button next to all the tracks except the one you want to isolate.
5 Start playing
Press the Spacebar again and you’ll notice that the other instruments have been muted or are at least quieter. You’ll also notice that the key in which the song is recorded is displayed at the top, along with the tempo.
6 Set a start point or loop
To skip the intro, start the song again by clicking the “Go to start point” button and when it reaches the part you want to start learning, click Set. To loop a section, click In at the start of the section and Out at the end.
7 Change tempo or pitch
If the song is too fast for you to learn comfortably, click the Tempo slider and drag it to the left. If the tempo is okay, but you want to change its pitch, click on an arrow either side of Pitch — each increment is a semitone.
8 Change volume
To change the volume of the whole song, use the slider at the top–left of the main window. To change the volume of individual tracks, instead of muting them completely, use the sliders on the left.
