HOW TO Use Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos
1 Auto Dolby Atmos on iOS
Tap Settings then tap Music. Tap Dolby Atmos > Automatic. When you listen to music using a pair of AirPods or Beats, songs will play in Dolby Atmos and you’ll hear the spatial effect.
2 Always Dolby Atmos
You can still listen to Dolby Atmos even if you don’t have supported AirPods or Beats, although you’ll need to switch Music > Audio > Dolby Atmos from Automatic to Always On.
3 Auto Atmos on Mac
Launch the Music app. Click on the Music menu and choose Preferences. Select the Playback tab. Look for the Dolby Atmos setting two– thirds down the window, click the menu, and choose Automatic.
4 Quiet tracks
You might find that Dolby Atmos tracks are quieter than stereo tracks and that when you turn the volume up for Dolby Atmos, the stereo songs are too loud. The answer is to enable Sound Check.
5 Sound Check on iOS
Launch Settings > Music. Scroll down to the bottom and toggle the switch next to Sound Check to the “on” position. Now, there will be no wide variation in volume between tracks.
6 Sound Check on Mac
Launch Music. Click the Music menu > Preferences. Select the Playback tab. Check the box next to Sound Check. You can also set crossfading and enhancement from here.
