ONE OF THE Apple Watch’s strengths is its level of customization, particularly with complications. These are small widgets that adorn your watch face, adding nuggets of information at a glance.

Apple has loaded the Watch with lots of its own complications, and third–party apps can add their own too. But what if these don’t quite hit the spot? Instead of making do with one that’s subpar, you can get the free Watchsmith app and create your own complications.

With Watchsmith (free, offers IAPs), you can craft complications with a range of functions, from displaying the date in various formats to measuring your fitness and more. Almost everything can be tweaked, including the fonts and colors used. It even includes timed complications, which are only displayed during the hours you set.
