HOW TO THE iPADOS 15 HOME SCREEN
CALENDAR WIDGET We’ve chosen the Up Next version of the Calendar widget, which shows the next few events in your Calendar. If you prefer, you can go for a smaller widget that just shows a single event or a larger view that shows dates too.
APP FOLDERS
Folders aren’t new to iPadOS 15, but they’re just as useful as before: if you drag an app over another one, your iPad will create a new folder into which you can drag more apps. Folders can have multiple pages to store apps.
WEATHER WIDGET Although Apple has acquired the excellent Dark Sky weather app, its own Weather widget takes you to Weather.com when you tap it. We’ve found its hour by hour forecasts reasonably accurate and useful for predicting rain.
SMART STACK
A Smart Stack is a Home Screen widget that displays different content at different times of the day. Here it’s showing us Apple News, but later in the day it’ll show us images from Photos and headlines from third–party apps.
DOCK FOLDERS
The App Launcher is great, but we also like to have our most used apps one tap away. You can drag a folder of apps to the Dock; tapping on it then makes the folder pop up so you can launch the apps that it contains.
RECENT APPS
These three icons provide fast access to the last three apps you used. You can also swipe from the bottom of your screen to see all the currently open apps, which enables you to shut down any app that’s misbehaving.
APP LIBRARY
All your apps are here, including ones you don’t want to show on any page of your Home Screen. Your iPad automatically adds every new app to the App Library, and it organizes them into straightforward categories.
