PHOTOS IS LARGELY unchanged in iPadOS 15, but there are two key new features: the same Live Text you can use with your camera or in Safari works in Photos too, and you can now even personalize your Memories by using Memory Mixes to change their design, soundtrack — including Apple Music songs — and the color adjustments.

Translate is now on iPad, and that makes us heureuse, contenta, glücklich! You now have system– wide translation where you can grab text from inside apps and get an instant translation. You can also translate Live Text, which is brilliant if you’re traveling.

The Translate app is very good, with an excellent Conversation Mode that can translate in real time as you chat with somebody else. In a nice touch, the Face To Face view splits the screen in half and reverses half of it so both of you see text the right way up.

Memory Mixes enable you to change the soundtrack and add color effects to your Photos Memories.

Photos and other content sent to you by other people now appear in Shared With You in Safari, Photos, Music, News, TV, and Podcasts.
